Thursday Traders 1

I wanted to do a series of posts featuring swaps I've received. These are all from my pile of convention swaps here. Most of them are labeled with who created them, but unfortunately not everyone put their names on theirs.

For all things fall...

With summer speeding by, we're quickly coming close to my favourite season... fall! Even though today is gearing up to be hot and muggy, I took some time to look forward to that cool snap in the air and the smell of wood stoves firing up.

We got to buy this stamp set "For All Things" at convention, well before anyone else got it. I love the water-colour look, and the fall sentiments work perfectly for so many types of cards. These three cards are all purposely simple, with just one touch of fancy on each card.

Real Red Wedding

Weddings are, surprisingly, not a big occasion in my life. I didn't realize how few wedding cards I had made until last Saturday started looming and I realized I needed to get my act together. I got the idea for this card off Split Coast Stampers, and just adjusted to what I felt it needed and the colours I had in mind from the invite.

Because this card was going to be hand delivered, I also went a little crazy on the envelope. The embossing on the flap really sends the look over the edge I think!

Sneak Peek: Christmas Wreath

Another super awesome product I can't wait for from the 2014 Holiday Catalogue...

Not only does the wreath have matching framelits (as do the other images in this set), but they're photopolymer and SUPER easy to line up due to a magical new feature that you'll have to wait to see!

The ribbon on this card is also new, and very fun to work with.

I'm super excited about a lot of these new goodies! Expect to see more of this stamp set too, it was one we got for free!

Stampin' Up! Convention 2014 Wrap Up

As many of you know, I spent a few days in Salt Lake City last week attending the Stampin' Up! Annual Convention. This was an amazing event I hope to be able to attend again. It was called "Inspire. Create. Share.", and that's definitely what it was.

The first day we arrived we booked into our hotel and checked into the convention. This was the convention centre as seen from our room!

The second day, the convention actually started, and we lined up for the first session. Almost 4,000 women waiting to get into the same room! Scary!

It was worth it however, the speakers were amazing, and everyone got a free stamps! My upline Angela and I both got different ones.

There was another great view from the hallway of our hotel. This is Temple Square, which I will show more of later.

The Inspiration Boards were fantastic too. They had multiple boards for each of the free stamp sets we got, and many more with general inspiration. So many great ideas!

We also went on a tour of the home office in Riverton, UT, where we left messages for the staff there...

Drooled over the warehouse full of product....

And enjoyed the lovely scenery inside and out!

The lectures were fantastic as well. Bonnie Thurber is HILARIOUS, we laughed ourself silly at her class (which was also very educational).

We had dinner with some other BC girls at Blue Iguana, which is just across the street from the convention centre. Delicious, delicious Mexican food.

Every day, Shelli Gardner spoke to us about a variety of topics, and presented achievers.

Some of us won Prize Patrols, Lisa got a whole Project Life kit!

Finally on the last day, at the closing session, I won a Prize Patrol too (I don't have a photo though). And we got a photo with me, Angela and my downline, Lisa!

The day after convention ended, Lisa and I went on a tour of Temple Square, which is just stunning.

And then finally I came home to look at all my swaps, tidy up, and get back to work!

Convention was amazing. I was so inspired, had a great time, and met some awesome women. It's an experience every demonstrator should have. Maybe you'll join us next year?
