Christmas in July Blog Hop

I've had the past month to look at the new August - December "Holiday" Mini Catalogue and I can't hold my excitement back anymore! Along with my blog hopping friends, we decided to host a Christmas in July hop. While the catalogue won't go live for customers until August 4, any demonstrator, including those who join now, can pre-order a month ahead of time! This is one of my favourite things about being a demo for sure.

After hemming and hawing for a while, I decided to use the Little Treats bundle and make this sweet little treat container, perfect for slipping in a chocolate or other treat for someone special around the holidays. One of the things I love about this bundle is that it's not just Christmas! You also get images and sentiments for Halloween, Birthdays, and Weddings, so you can share a treat for any occasion.

Of course I had to make a card to match, and I love how this one turned out!

Take another look at both my projects, and then hop along to see what everyone else did! Don't forget to leave them some comments!

I'd love to share a shopping list with you, but this catalogue isn't live yet so the products aren't available yet! If you'd like a copy of the catalogue and/or to get your order ready to place on August 4, drop me an email and we'll get you sorted.

Anytime you place an order in my online store and use the host code on the right, you will also get a free PDF tutorial! You'll be able to pick from a wide variety of tutorials I've published over the years, including past technique classes, tutorial bundles, and other fun projects.

Boho Indigo Feature

When I first saw the Boho Indigo product medley I knew I had to have it! I love the idea of product medleys, they're a great way to get a 'kit' feeling where everything coordinates but you can let your creativity run free! There's always some gorgeous extras you just don't get in suites, like the gold edged labels from this medley.

I had to make a stack of birthday cards this month because I was already running behind. So I picked a card sketch at random (literally, I have them all numbered and ran a random number generator to pick), pulled out the medley and some other bits and pieces I wanted to use, then went crazy! Here's what I came up with...

Each card is unique, but they all use the same basic supplies and layout. It was easy to prep all the pieces and create an assembly line for myself too! Here's the whole stack I ended up with...

Take a look at the gallery below to see what some of my friends have done with this medley! You can even click through to see their posts about it.

If you'd like to make these cards, or any projects, for yourself with this medley and still need to order it, click on any of the products I used below to be taken directly to my online store. Don't forget to use the host code on the right!

Anytime you place an order in my online store and use the host code on the right, you will also get a free tutorial bundle! Just use the host code on the right and I'll send you a code you can use at my online store to pick any tutorial up to $20 in value!

Sketch Challenge #1 Winner!

Congratulations Narelle! By popular vote, her project was the favorite from our first sketch challenge. Take a look at her beautiful card...

Narelle is a very talented demonstrator from Australia. I first "met" her when we did some training together online, and we've worked together on a couple of projects since then. Like me, she started crafting with her gramma and uses it as an outlet and uses it as therapy! Take a look at her website here: Simply Stamping with Narelle

If you'd like to participate in a sketch challenge too, here's your chance! Take the sketch posted below, create something with it, then add it to the gallery below. You'll have until July 20 to post it, then we will vote on our favourites and I'll feature the winner here on July 27!

Color Challenge #1

Today we finished submissions and started voting for our first Sketch Challenge, so it's time to start a color challenge! Make a project using the theme of the week, which is "Grayscale", then post it to your own blog and submit the link below. You have until 8am Pacific on July 13th to do so. Don't forget to vote on your favourites (and get your readers to do so too!) and then I'll feature the winner here on July 20th.

I took this color scheme and used the Peony Garden designer series paper with it's lovely modern patterns to create a simple card with lots of texture. By layering DSP, a vellum doily, ribbon, and a die cut label I was able to create this card in minutes...

Submit your creation and vote for your favourites here...

And if you'd like to make your own card based off mine, have a look at the shopping list below for what you'll need. You can click on any of the products I used to be taken directly to my store.

Anytime you place an order in my online store and use the host code on the right, you will also get a free tutorial bundle! Just use the host code on the right and I'll send you a code you can use at my online store to pick any tutorial up to $20 in value!
